The Mogvl - a conversation about success
A Mogvl (pronounced “mogul”; written in ancient Roman style, by substituting the “U” with a “V”) is a powerful or important person in a certain field. The term is normally used to refer to a very wealthy or powerful businessman; a business mogul.
The MOGVL is a conversation about success; some see it as a soundtrack to success with 23 carefully chosen songs. Many were called, but only a few were chosen. The book describes some of the principles that successful people live by, and seeks to enlighten those who are interested in taking the same journey to success. The MOGVL is not, however, the ‘be-all and end-all’ answer; panacea. The MOGVL will provide you with guidelines based on 32 years of research into knowledge that spans over 3500 years, going as far back as the times when Africans built pyramids and were the rulers of Egypt, yes, ancient Egypt – when it was ruled by Africans such as Cleopatra, Khufu etc. Just for interest sake, Khufu’s reign has been recorded in history to have lasted 23 years. Khufu, African Pharaoh, is known to have built the largest pyramid in the world – the Pyramid of Giza. Why the fascination with pyramids? Well, pyramids are not built overnight, they take time to build, one brick at a time, and they last for centuries.
The same is true with Principles, which leads us to the next question - Why 23 Principles instead of 23 Laws? With Laws you get punished if you break them; Laws emphasise being punished if disobeyed. Principles, on the other hand, are basic truths, especially of good behaviour; Principles emphasise being rewarded if followed. Every principle described in this book ends with a ‘plan of action’; not just a plan. The difference is that a ‘plan of action’ emphasises the action part, which means you should act and apply what you learn as soon as possible. The common thread in every principle is that it requires you to seek knowledge in something. It requires you to do your homework, in order, to know better; as the old adage goes, “when you know better, you do better”. You must know better than the next person, this way you will always stay at the top of your game, and master the art of winning. Be the sharpest tool in the toolbox.
In The MOGVL, some things will be repeated, this is done deliberately. The mind learns through repetition. If you tell yourself constantly that you are something, chances are your brain will end up believing it. So it is in this regard, that the repetitions are made in this book. Repetition is the father of all learning and understanding. If you don’t get it the first time one way, maybe you will get it the second time, if told in another way. You should read this book at least 23 times, it is like driving; the more you do it, the easier it becomes. The more you read The MOGVL, the more you will understand it; and discover new truths. Think of the principles as 23 numbered dots, which you have to connect to get the full picture of what you need to do; to take your life to the next level of success. Cut out every piece of the puzzle and create your own masterpiece, and stick it up somewhere to remind yourself of the truths that you’ve learned. Read each principle and then ask yourself, “What is this?” As Sean Carter said, in his comeback lyrical thesis, “This [book] is good business; you should bite it.” I Am.
