Seth Godin defines a killer app as a program that all by itself is good enough to justify the price of the hardware. The killer app for the PC was Excel. The killer app for the iPod was iTunes. This is reason enough to pay its premium price. App is short for application, by the way. If you had to view a human being as hardware, what do you think would be its killer app? For most they would probably say, it's the app that makes them have sex :-)
